Born in Leeds, Balbinder Broadbent graduated with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art, Printmaking from the School of Art & Design in Hull. This was followed by an MA in Fine Art, Painting from the University of East London. Working from her studio in North Yorkshire, her work is in many private collections throughout the UK and overseas. Balbinder has been the recipient of numerous awards. The Mercer Gallery, Harrogate, purchased one of her paintings for their permanent collection in 2022.
“Colour is fundamental to my work. Metaphorical windows are a recurring motif as are marks and symbols that dance over shifting planes, allowing the viewer to navigate a passage through the painting.”
